Overview

Gokyo Valley Trek is the most arresting way in Everest region. This popular trek among trekkers from the entire world will pass through arresting Sherpa communities enjoying a range of vegetation from pine, hemlock woods at lower elevations; fir, birch, juniper, rhododendron forests at the median elevations; plus scrub as well as alpine plant at lofty region. Rhododendrons blossoming during spring season will mesmerize any trekker.

The tiny community of Gokyo (4,750m) is positioned on the shore of the lake in a sequence of small turquoise mountain lakes. Also, the walk will let us observe fabulous mountain panorama of peaks having height above 6000m which are noticeable from Gokyo Ri (5483m) higher than Gokyo Lake and you will also observe the Ngozumpa Glacier- the largest glacier in the Nepal. Besides the astonishing views of ice edge flanked by Cho Oyu as well as Gyachung in Khumbu area is another appeal of the trek.

Eye-catching views of highest peaks like Cho you (8,153m), Everest (8848m), Gyachung Kang (7,922m), Makalu, Lhotse (8,501m) etc will completely captivate you during the trek. And you will pass through the centre of the region Namche Bazaar (3440m) and go by Khumjung valley, Dole, Machhermo, Gokyo, Gokyo Ri, crossing Cho La Pass located at 5330m. As a final point the trek reaches Everest Base Camp passing through Dzonglha (4830m), and then Gorak Shep. The wonderful near sight of mighty Everest (8848m) from Kalapathar, meaning in Nepali black rock is the unbelievable view spot.

A. Itinerary in Detail (15 Days)

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, / Pick up and transfer to hotel / introduction to staff and briefing / overnight hotel

Day 02: Guided tour of Kathmandu’s historical and spiritual attractions taking in many of the important valley sites/ overnight hotel

Day 03: Transfer to airort / fly to Lukla 2840 m / about 40 minutes flights / proced trek to Phakding 2610 m / approx -43 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3440 m / approx 5 – 6 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day / exploration around / overnight guesthouse.

Day 06: Trek to  Dole  4130 m / approx 5-6 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 07: Trek to  Machermo 4470 m / approx 6 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo 4790 m / approx  4-5 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 09:  Hike up to Gokyo Ri 5360 m, early in the morning / stunning vies / back to Gokyo / approx 4 hours / overnight guesthouse

Day 10: Trek to back to Dole / approx 3-4 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar / approx 6 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 12: Trek to Lukla / approx 6 hours / overnight guesthouse.

Day 13:  Fly back to Kathmandu in the morning / transfer to hotel / Overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Leisure day in Kathmandu / shopping relaxation etc / overnight at hotel.

Day 15: Transfer to airport / fly onward destination.
