Absolutely amazing!

What an amazing experience that was! Surviving the flight into Lukla, then trekking to Everest Base Camp via Kalapatthar; then trekking to Imjatse base camp and attempting the summit from high camp, and trekking back to Luka for my flight back to Kathmandu. The weather was on my side at almost every stage and summit day on Island peak was particularly beautiful. I also didn’t expect such a full-on mountaineering experience with my fantastic guide Nawang. But because I climbed in June, the fixed ropes and ladder had already been removed, leaving us both to belay each other across the crevasses and to wade through waist deep snow. Absolutely amazing!

So, thank you for such a wonderful and authentic experience. Thanks also to my guide Nawang and to my two porters who all seem to posses superhuman powers! And not forgetting your wonderfully kind and hospitable family whom invited me in and gave me such a warm Nepali welcome!
